Piano Lessons
Warm, Encouraging Lessons for All Ages and Levels
A Welcoming Place to Learn
Dr. Yingqi Wang brings the same care and curiosity she brings to the stage into every lesson. Whether you are picking up the piano for the first time, returning after years away, or already advancing, lessons are paced for you — never rushed, never one-size-fits-all.
Beginners build a comfortable foundation through gentle, encouraging steps. Returning adults rediscover the instrument at their own pace. Advancing students refine technique, grow their repertoire, and develop their own musical voice. Everyone is welcome here.
What I Teach
Private Piano Lessons
Weekly one-on-one instruction tailored to each student's age, level, and goals. Lessons cover technique, reading, repertoire, and musicianship — building confident pianists from the very first note.
First Steps for Beginners
A gentle, encouraging start for children and adults new to the piano — covering the basics of posture, rhythm, reading, and simple pieces, with plenty of patience and no pressure.
Adult & Returning Learners
A welcoming space for adults beginning piano or returning after years away. Lessons move at your pace and are shaped around the music you love.
Performance Coaching
Focused preparation for upcoming recitals, school performances, and other public engagements. We work on stage presence, pacing, and steady, expressive playing under pressure.
Audition & Competition Prep
Targeted preparation for college auditions, festivals, competitions, and graded examinations — including repertoire selection, mock performances, and a clear preparation plan.
Repertoire & Interpretation
Detailed work on individual pieces — phrasing, voicing, pedaling, stylistic context — to help students play with intention rather than habit.
Service Area
In-home piano lessons in Hopkinton and surrounding towns.
The main service area covers Hopkinton and neighboring towns. Lessons take place at the student's home on a working acoustic or weighted-key digital piano.
Other nearby locations may also be possible depending on schedule and travel. Please reach out with your town and a few details, and we can find the right fit together.

What to Expect
Lesson Format
Weekly private lessons of 45 or 60 minutes, depending on the student's age, level, and goals. Beginners typically start with 45-minute sessions and grow into longer lessons as their focus and repertoire expand.
A Supportive Environment
Lessons are warm, patient, and unhurried. A little regular practice goes a long way, and we work together to find what's enjoyable and sustainable for each student.
Performance Opportunities
The studio holds a studio recital where students share what they have been working on in a warm, supportive setting. Students are also encouraged to perform in other settings and to participate in competitions, festivals, and auditions when it suits their goals — always at a pace that feels right for them.
Schedule a Trial Lesson
The best way to begin is with an introductory trial lesson — a relaxed first meeting to play a little, talk through goals, and see if the studio is the right fit.
